Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about planning a wedding in the Methow Valley.

Which parts of the valley do you serve?

The whole Methow Valley, including Mazama, Winthrop, Twisp, Carlton, Methow and Pateros, plus nearby venues on request.

Do we have to use Twisp River Catering?

No. Twisp River Catering is our recommended partner, but some venues require their own in-house catering and some couples bring their own caterer. We plan around whatever fits your venue.

When is the best time of year to get married here?

Late May through early October is the main season. June and September offer warm days and cooler evenings; July and August are hottest and carry wildfire-smoke risk. Winter weddings are possible at indoor venues.

How far ahead should we book?

For summer Saturdays at popular venues, 12 months or more is ideal. Some venues book only one wedding per weekend or per week.

Can guests fly in?

The nearest commercial airport is Pangborn Memorial Airport (EAT) in Wenatchee, about 2½ hours away. Many guests fly into Seattle or Spokane and drive.

Is the North Cascades Highway open for our wedding?

SR 20 closes every winter, usually from November or December into spring. Dates vary year to year, so early-spring and late-fall couples should share an alternate route with guests.

What about wildfire smoke?

We build a backup plan into every outdoor wedding: indoor or tented space, a smoke-day timeline and clear communication with guests.

Where do we get our marriage license?

Any Washington county auditor can issue a license that is valid statewide. Locally, the Okanogan County Auditor charges $159 (cash or money order). There is a 3-day waiting period and the license is valid for 60 days.

How much do your planning packages cost?

Planning packages start at $1,500 for an elopement or micro-wedding, $2,400 for wedding-weekend coordination, $4,200 for partial planning and $7,500 for full planning and design (which includes full wedding-weekend coordination). Travel anywhere in the Methow Valley is included, and final pricing depends on guest count, date and scope, confirmed in writing before you book. Founding couples: our first couples get 10% off any planning package (not catering). Mention it when you inquire.

Do you plan elopements and small weddings?

Yes. Our Elopement & Micro-Wedding package is designed for intimate ceremonies of about 20 guests or fewer.
